Meet our donors

Lipscomb could not exist without donations—truly. Tuition only covers about 80% of the costs of operating the university; contributions from our generous supporters allow us to keep running and keep moving forward.

Faculty and staff

They instruct students. Program computers. Shelve library books. Maintain laboratories. Every day, our faculty and staff make an enormous, invaluable difference in the lives of our students. But faculty and staff also go above and beyond by taking part in the Family Campaign, giving thousands of dollars to support, in yet another way, Lipscomb students.

  • I am a graduate of Lipscomb and value the mentoring and instruction I received here.
  • My two children graduated from Lipscomb, and I value the quality education they received.
  • My wife is a Lipscomb graduate and faculty member, and I value our Christian marriage.
  • I taught for 36 years at secular institutions before coming to Lipscomb, and I value our wonderful Christian workplace.”

In the 2011-2012 "Invest in the Future" Family Campaign, more than 94% of our employees contributed to the campaign, up two percent from the previous year. Employees gave more than $260,000 as compared to $246,000 last year, and 93% designated their contribution to the Lipscomb Fund, which provides support to student scholarships, student services, academic support, technology, physical enhancements and institutional support.

Of course, a campaign like this takes some coordination. That’s why we ask a steering committee of faculty and staff to lead and assist us with planning and implementing the campaign. This year’s steering committee included Walt Leaver, University Relations; Cynthia Smith, Facilities; Dr. Laura Williams, College of Business; Tenielle Buchanan, Office of Intercultural Engagement & Development; Dr. Phil Ellenburg, General Counsel; and co-chairs Dr. Paul Prill, Honors College; and Pam Eatherly, Beaman Library. This committee led a team of 22 employee ambassadors who personally encouraged their colleagues to participate in the campaign.

"I received memorial funds as a Lipscomb student 10 years ago. Therefore, I was able to obtain a Christian education and build life-long relationships. I support the Family Campaign because I want to help transform and enrich the lives of our students. Learn. Earn. Return."

We appreciate all the contributions made by our faculty and staff, and are proud that our employees recognize their gifts as part of an exciting future for our university, its students and the communities in which we live and serve.
